I’m an Army VietNam vet. It’s my opinion that few things please a Democrat as much as a dead American soldier. BTW Powell was a quota-filler mediocrity. Gen Schwarzkopf threatened to resign if the Gulf War were executed with Powell’s plan which was a direct assault on a position designed to receive a direct assault - like Burnside at Fredericksburg. Schwarzkopf’s plan was variation of the Schlieffen Plan and it worked - and he didn’t have to deal with the equivalent of a nervous, excitable Kaiser interfering. It took a direct order from Pres Bush to Gen Powell to do it Schwarzkopf’s way.

therefore I would not advise ANYONE for any reason to comply with a "draft". You don't have much of a country based upon freedom when you have to employ slaves to fight for it.
