I got off the "smart" phone technology a few years ago, I OWN (not lease)an android and a Blackberry. I mothballed them both, placed them in a Faraday cage and reactivated my 2009 era NON "smart" flip phone. I am neither 16 years old nor addicted to the internet (same thing I guess).

I have an LG Android phone. It took me a few months to come to the conclusion that it was the process threads of background apps that were slowing the phone down to the point of being useless. Rebooting the phone helps for a bit. I imagine that wiping the OS and installing only a few apps rather than the 80 or so that I have, would make a big difference. This is if not planned, being allowed.
