Lithium isn't going to save ANYTHING! Lithium batteries represent the exponential destruction of our planet. When trillions of decaying batteries permanently contaminate our groundwater,(and air), it will be too late!

Fighting Over Desert?

A handful of companies own land in the caldera. The rest of the land is BLM land. That should tell you something. BLM land is land NOBODY else wants, so the US government owns it. Nearby McDermitt has from 29 to 54 people, a casino and gas station. Further away is Fort McDermitt Indian Reservation with 341 people. It is high desert with very little water. One company said when operations get going, they will provide a few dozen permanent jobs. Lithium mining can be a dirty business. If this country is so hell bent on "green energy" and lithium, this is the place to mine. Out in the middle of nowhere. Almost NO ONE will be impacted. Personally, I believe "green energy" is bogus. Other "free energy" sources should be developed instead.
