My hypothesis for CK's internal injuries--including bullet fragments---is that he was wearing on his back what he believed to be a GPS transponder (to safeguard againt potential kidnappers) but in reality was a bomb loaded with explosives and bullet fragments (and maybe a lethal dose of fentanyl to finish the job if the physical trauma wasn't quite sufficient) that was detonated at the moment that that the "bullet" entered his neck. If there was a layer of kevlar between the bomb and his shirt, it would have protected those nearby from injury. If my hypothesis is correct, that means there would have been a traitor(s) on his security team. I'm not a ballistics expert, just a CSS fan.
