When people see some fruits and veggies empty at the grocery store then they'll freak out. Or if the MSM talks about this, I think the regular people will hear shortage or 50% and it'll be 2020 again. Fighting over TP and bleach
Let's just take the issue of firearm ammo. There are no primary lead smelters in the US, only secondary small smelters which recycle car battery lead. So lead has to be imported to make bullets. The US produces NO gunpowder (except a small plant in Louisiana which makes Black powder, not good for firearms), so it is imported from around the world. The US can still manufacture brass shell casings as the US still has domestic copper and zinc mines. So, in a prolonged dock strike, the US may have plenty of brass ammo casings, but nothing to fill them with. Remember that the US imports a lot of stuff from China, but China has been quietly shutting that spigot off to the US.
