Even back in the 1960s, there was always been a bit of a spin presented by network news. But people could still get enough real news to make up their own minds and form their own opinions. Today network news is such a joke, and their audiences so small, that they must cater to those few who are radically brain-washed in order to even stay on the air. In other words, instead of presenting balanced, real news, networks air only things which will maintain their ever dwindling audiences. In fact, the commercials they air may have more truth in them that the actual "news" content they present. CNN and MSNBC are firing or demoting their on-air "talent" to save money, while CBS and ABC are about to be sued into oblivion.
