but mainly because we have supported an unconstitutional standing army and rejected actually following the Constitution and the States fielding well regulated militias, with the Feds by following the "militia" clause providing the tools of war such as tanks and helicopters to the state militias.

Putin would lose the high ground if they invaded?

You failed to mention a big reason for the invasion Dave. The US created Nazi puppet government in Ukraine had murdered 14,000 civilians in the independent Dombass over an 8 year period. That by itself would have required an invasion to adress.
