Over 1.4 million firearms are in New Zealand. To date, only 750 old ratty worn-out 'MSSA's (Assault style rifles / shotguns) have been turned in. Police are not paying out the actual compensation value...the deer stalkers are pissed off about this. Those who are turning in worn-out weapons are taking the small amount of compensation and buying new weapons. Many AR-15's are being converted to pump-action rifles... The Biker Gangs have said that they WILL NOT turn in their firearms. It'ss be interesting to see how a firearms round-up and arrests goes in that regard...!
