State laws differs, but as many sheriff's can form posse's, they are limited in scope of power. Over the recent years, the Federal Gov't has trialed and convicted people who was deputized that WASN'T on the sheriff dept. full time payroll. Deputy full card carrying member, BUT not a full time employee. Most of these on weapon charges for 94 Assault weapon ban weapons possesion, or machine guns. Legal weapons, just NOT paid employees, where the Federal Gov't classified them as "full time " law enforcement, for official use only kinda thing. I wrote a paper back in 2013 or so about Constitutional Sheriff's forming a Reserve Force. No NOT the typical police reserve weekend warrior force. Civil defense force. I'm all for it, feds wont be.

"Constitutional Sheriffs is a delusional term. I see no evidence of a single sheriff's department in the entire country that follows the US Constitution, and most sheriff's should be prosecuted and jailed under USC title 18 sections 241 and 242. https://www.justice.gov/crt/conspiracy-against-rights To get to the chase if a sheriff's office has ever enforced any gun law or any federal drug law, then they are clearly not honoring the Constitution as neither power is delegated to them in the Constitution, furthermore the former is prohibited of them by the second amendment and the 9th and 10th amendments make it clear that the war on drugs is at the very least unconstitutional.

We the people (the milita) should NEVER organize ourselves under the government. What this sherriff should do is what king David did in Psalms 149.He ought to encourage the formation of a milita and then he can deputize members of the militia if needed. The government is the problem Dave that includes the Sheriffs departs. We should NOT become part of the problem. I guess that these deputized citizens will help the sheriff wage Satan's war on drugs and the war on guns? This is a VERY bad idea Dave The second amendment Dave was thought important to protect us from a standing army like the police You scare me Dave you really do. You sometimes sound like the globalists. We don't need permissions to carry a weapon as you state.

If one believes that one needs to be "deputized" in order to carry out certain God given rights, then you must by definition believe in "moral relativism" a major pillar in the church of Satan You also by definition must not believe in the founding principle that "all me are created equal" This is a very bad idea The founders gave us the 2 juries and the milita to combat government tyranny. It seems that even the "patriots" are so dumbed down from the government indoctrination camps that they ignore what God set up and blessed and instead want to go in league with the evil that is waging the globalist/Stanic battles against our rights. i.e. the war on guns and the war on drugs "Woe to those that call evil good and good evil

Totally understand the sentiment of deputizing ever American, but it is not just elites that become greedy and mean with power, for they have the knowledge of greater larger perception to handle power, but considering the problems we have globally stem from nearly every last human already thinks, wants, believe it self, should call the shots of every one elses life, such would be create a total breakdown of Ametican hierarchal society into worse than civil war, not forgetting every war is simply two sides, each thinking their own way, methods, religion, traditions, family, group, are more correct than others, and so should set the standards for all other groups, a sure recipe for power duels which end in wars, so death and dungeons 4 others

Dave, Every requirement to enjoy a Constitutional freedom presents a conundrum to that freedom as well as a possible means of restriction. I never had to have a required training to shoot a gun - my dad gave me some very limited lessons. Protecting people from their own naivete or stupidity is a favored ploy for greater government intrusion in our private lives and a means to determine who is armed.
