I think you are not giving this Harvard Professor a fair shake on his projections. You appear to forget, at least in the US, how we are hamstrung in our ability to access data on who are infected: Only three labs can test for the virus and its been over a month since the initial outbreak and especially, less than 500 tested to date. His 'estimate' seems quite plausible to me and I'd tend to agree, since outside the US, testing facilities and data on people tested is most likely even more sketchy. The data is very hard to grasp and predictions must be equally hard to determine.
