There is debate amongst practicing Catholics whether or not Francis is Pope. When Benedict "bifurcated" the duties he expressly resigned the ministry but not the office of Pope. Canon Law states that a new Pope can only be elected if the Holy See is vacant, which it would only have been if Benedict had resigned the office of Pope.

True, this, Dave! My grandfather, father and uncle warned about this issue for decades, and I know that they endured great frustration and grief regarding it, which I also perceive concerning you. Please know that many of us out here believe that you are going to hear "Well done, good and....faithful....servant"...

Persecution has already started

The persecution is already here in Europe. We started to be persecuted because of the bad image of Church, with many freemason pedophiles that infiltred it. All started with freemasonry infiltration, as the great goal of the freemasonry (not hidden) is to destroy the Church. Especially the Catholic one, (but finally all kind of Christian faith) Some protestants also persecute catholic, persecution starts with bad words, judgement, condemnation because "you don't think like I do". "You are a devil because you are catholic".
