So when I am in the superstores I am asking any employee questions with a sort of curious manner, hinting that the supply chains may be falling apart. It seems the people on the front line are pretty clueless or act as if they are. I went to the bank today to get cash and hinted the supply chains might be getting strained. She seemed clueless. I am NOT talking friends or family about this, they are over 2000 miles away, my former sister in law said she had thrown out some canned food that was 'expired' I made no comment! She thinks her daughter buying meals through the mail will last forever. I simply cannot deal with this thinking! Everyone seems to be in the normalcy delusion. I hope they will be okay, but I can't do anything for them!

People are being extraordinarily nice!

I went to 3 stores today. People everywhere are being so nice towards one another. Maybe, they have it all wrong. Maybe instead of fighting people will come together. I gave a few dozen eggs and several bags of lemons away and a gentleman loaded the heavier bags into my car and another person gave me a piece of equipment I needed. A cop stopped me and let me go without giving me a ticket. Everyone going out of their way to say "hi" in the parking lots. I think "their" predictive programming isn't going to work. Talked to several people today. Not a single one knows anyone who has had this virus. I call B.S. on the "new" corona virus. People on the street are catching on that it's a HOAX. But it's still ok to wash hands more often -stops flu

Dave: People tend to think of restaurants as casual businesses that can be shut down with little effect except for owners and employees. Restaurants account for at least half of the food consumed in the US. That food is no longer available and it can not easily be shipped to supermarkets; there is no structure for that. Even if there was such a system, the supermarkets couldn't handle a doubling or more of stocked items.
