When I first heard the speakers going off I thought police state, I haven't seen any greeters in many years in the Illinois and Indiana Walmarts. Meijer still has greeters, and as you, I enjoyed talking to them. I don't think the panhandlers got the memo on social distancing.

I used to work for Sensormatic which allowed me to work on store surveillance systems for many big box stores. At Walmart, I was only allowed to work on the anti-shoplifting door sensors at each entrance. But I did find out I could never have access to the security room which housed banks of monitors tied to cameras all over the store, inside and out. I did manage to find out each Walmart has at least 200 cameras monitoring its patrons. And recently I read that each register was going to be monitored more closely, not just the employee, but the patron as well. And Bosch has facial recognition cameras installed at each entrance at about 5 feet off the floor. Just look for them - they are there. Happy 1984!
