It's a lot more than that. The number is based on figures from just before the crisis hit. Those numbers were wrong, and not including unemployed who had already exhausted benefits, and gave up looking in an already deteriorating economy. . The real rate then was more like 20%.

Unemployment is actually 37%. Remember, the 99er's are off the roles now, and are thus not counted, unless you drive around for a head count in the major cities and see the thousands of tents belonging to displaced homeless Americans, 33% of which are Veterans who, by now, are ITCHING to be recalled back into Military Service! But; what will you be serving???? I think I'll vote for Jesus Christ as my write-in candidate on my Absentee Ballot; only He can help us now! America went illusional in 1913, delusional in 1963, and totally betrayed in 1990! Everything else is a joystick or a ball game in progress, while ignoring the country that was being stolen from us all! Clint Eastwood is right; Americans are a bunch of P^$$ies!!!
