In Utah and many other states , but mostly Utah , What ever you purchase as goods or services , a big chunk of your money goes to the LDS Church , because the LDS Church is Mandatory Tithing . They will tell you it's not Mandatory , but the 12 million members pay their 10% Tithing from Gross earnings every Payday , which is some of your money you gave to members employed where you buy your Goods and Services . If they refuse to pay their 10% Tithing , they are NOT in good standing with the Church , and looked down on from leaders and members , leads to excommunication . The Organization has 33 Billion Dollars in the New York Stock Exchange with Leaders holding immense wealth and assets . Little bit country , Lil bit Rock & Roll ? Money !
