Well, it's really about control, isn't it? If the power grid service is inadequate, then why not build more electricity producing plants. Natural gas has never been more plentiful and coal never been more clean and plentiful. So, why not? Because it's not part of their agenda - Agenda 2030 that is.

Yes, you correct Dave. This is all about smart meters and renewable energy that is variable and needs to have devices/ appliances switched off when there is NOT enough supply. Here in Metro Detroit they are sneaking it in the back door with a smart wifi thermostat that can be regulated by the big utility DTE energy. They can also put a zap on your bill with 95 cents per kwhr during critial peak periods. Also they can turn your heat or Ac up or down by 4 degrees to keep your AC for a short period of time. I talked to an electrical engineer that worked on the transmission lines and they will put customers on banks though smart meters where they can control/ regulate your consumption (mainly AC in the summer here in Detroit) to offset the
