Ahead of the shots fired they had a few minutes warning. Bystanders saw the man climbing the bldg. with a rifle and yelled out warning to the police and Secret Service. Those authorities had the chance to do something about it. What could they have done? They had radios that could have been used to say something like 'there is a possible shooter threat on the roof of the bldg.'. That is all it would have taken. Radios are marvelous instruments for law enforcement, they notify fellow officers IMMEDIATELY of any threat. Upon receiving the radio warning the president could have been surrounded and taken out of harms way before any shots could have been fired by the assassin. But no, nothing was done. It appears....suspicious to say the least.
This is a great point. The media has been distracting the public with a red herring: whether secret service could have shot the man as soon as he was visible with his rifle (and before he fired several shots at the president). They could have, but more importantly the ground detail should have removed Trump from the stage the moment an unidentified individual was discovered moving into a shooting position. The goofball army crawling the roof should never have gotten to an overlook position without Trump being removed.
If there was a second shooter there would have been shots fired when Trump stood back up to pump has fist at the podium. The lack of any shots after one shooter is killed makes it likely that he was alone. The fact that no additional shots were taken when the target re-exposed himself and presented another opportunity (foolishly, perhaps?) strongly reinforces this likelihood.
