You shoud have been sent home with spirometer. Even though you are exercising dont count on a bunch of chemicals only. Most patients dont even unpack it or possibly got left behind and tossed.
Basically you can do 3 deep breathes in nose out mouth and cough on 3rd one. And use spirometer. Dont be concerned about short term dose. And consider tumeric boswellia in reg daily. I have experienced overall inflammation decrease esp lungs. I had a brand new resp patient come home with 14 new meds (home health country patient) its over whelming and you are educated so you will do well if you stay compliant with a plan. Two little side affect of steroids is. Insomnia and suicidal thoughts out of nowhere. Dose related. Getting sleep is important. And dont drive to golden gate bridge. Sometimes md will give xanax rather than decrease dose. Or you can tough it out. Use spirometer every 2 hours. Really. I have seen copd patients make fast progress.
