I know, I know it will never happen... I think candidates should not be able to take campaign contributions. Instead, federal candidates get taxpayer money for campaigns to the tune of $1 per constituent for the primary and again for the general. That's it. State and local, they get the same from state and local taxes. No private money, no corporate money period. The campaign money spending is transparent in an open source account, where anyone has read-only access. Any violations, the candidate goes to jail - period. No PACs, no Uni-Party National Committee slush funds, no Ronna Romneys, candidates take direct responsibility of their campaigns. They buy their own air time, set up their own debates, set-up their own transportation.
