IT IS ASVAB! Correct. In the past, the ADSVAB was only administered to a person who walked into a military recruitment station to test that person's suitability for military service. Typically the first step in recruitment. If a person passed the ADSVAB, the score was recorded. If passed, but score was low, the person might be offered an MOS in a low-skill position. If the person scored high enough, the person could be offered an MOS in satellite communications, electronics, cybersecurity, etc.
So this is interesting that they are giving this test to students (probably high school students). This way, this is one less step in the draft process. They already know where they want to put that student when the draft is announced.
When I was in high school, (late 70’s) we all took the ASVAB. They took all the seniors to the library and gave us the test. There was no draft then since it stopped in 1973.
I hope the draft does not come back. If it does, I expect lots of civil disobedience. No one is going to go fight for Ukraine.
