Being Half Lakota Sioux and growing up on a Reservation in South Dakota, I think I have seen it all. The Word "Chief" was a Honorable Name such as Tribal Chief, Fire Chief, Police Chief. But even today many of the Tribes are changing the leading tribal authority from Chief to Governor. That bothers me. Tomahawk Chop & Chanting is disrespectful or painting one's face or wearing a headress, all of which are earned. My problem has always been "Mt. Rushmore" placed in our Sacred Black Hills and Constructed as a WPA project and Borglum of which was a Grand Wizard in the KKK. Another show of the Whiteman ruling over another peoples. Being inocent and having fun, still does not make it right. You cannot be a Warrior unless you have been a Warrior.
