Former NASA chief scientist: Humans will make contact with aliens soon

Jim Green, former chief scientist National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), believes that humans will make contact with aliens soon.

Speaking on BBC’s “HARDtalk,” Green said he expects alien life to be found within his lifetime. “We are making enormous progress. Now we know there are more planets in our galaxy than there are stars. And many of them are in places much like the Earth where we can receive the light from the sun and we can have water,” Green said.

“And not only in liquid form but also in frozen form and vapor form. These are important conditions we believe for life. We are finding planets that have conditions where life may arise.”

NASA’s new James Webb Space Telescope increases the possibility of finding life forms outside Earth as it provides never-before-seen images of remote planets that can aid scientists in analyzing their atmospheres.

“With our next big telescope we are going to start teasing out what some of these planets look like from their atmospheres. We are going to be comparing these atmospheres to the ones we know. Are they more Venus-like, are they more Mars-like, are they more Earth-like?” Green said. “This is a huge step forward. I think we are going to see some really astounding discoveries in the next handful of years.”

He expects NASA to answer its two mission objectives: “Are we alone and how did we get here?”

This is not the first time that Green has talked about the discovery of extraterrestrial beings.

Several years ago, Green had foretold that ongoing NASA missions will discover signs of alien life on Mars in the near future. He also mentioned that humans are not advanced enough to welcome the realities around extraterrestrial existence. (Related: Massive temple spotted on Mars ‘identical’ to an ancient Japanese tomb.)

Contact with alien may happen underwater

Just like Green, UFO expert Gary Heseltine thinks humans will make contact with aliens soon. But he believes that contact preparations with extraterrestrials should involve wetsuits and submarines.

“UFOs are often seen coming in and out of water so suspect that in our deepest oceans and trenches we may well have alien bases. That sounds crazy but if you think about it we only know five percent of ocean, we know more about the surface of the moon or Mars than our own oceans – so that would seem to me why UFOs are seen regularly coming in and out of water,” said Heseltine, vice president of the International Coalition for Extraterrestrial Research (ICER).

ICER is a new not-for-profit organization comprised of scientists, academics and leading UFO researchers from 27 countries whose mission is to prepare people for a massive psychological change once contact is made with extraterrestrial beings.

Footage released by veteran documentary filmmaker and UFO enthusiast Jeremy Corbell seemed to support Haseltine’s theory. It shows what the Pentagon calls a “transmedium vehicle” entering the ocean without damage. (Related: UNEXPLAINED: Navy submarines detect fast-moving unidentified vehicles underwater.)
