Some 15 years ago I took a bankruptcy for medical reasons. Got a good lawyer. Did a 'cram down' on my house and paid it off in 3 years. Kept my car and paid it off in 3 years. In the last 4 months I replaced my 24 year old hot water heater and my 22 year old washer and dryer. Paid cash. I have no credit. If I don't have cash, I don't buy it. I have money for emergencies. I keep very little money in the bank. In short, the banksters hate my guts. No. I'm not rich. I have social security.Social credit score does not scare me. It's not too late to get a good bankruptcy lawyer. You've paid enough in interest to have paid the banksters back. Stick'em. Dave Ramsey says sell everything you own and eat rice and beans to pay the crooks back. Don't
