Melania's top choice for Trump's vice president is Tucker Carlson: Speculation builds...

TRUMP AND TUCKER

Former first lady Melania Trump's top choice for vice president is Tucker Carlson.

Axios reported Thursday on the who's who being considered for top roles if the Trump administration gets a 2.0.

Former President Donald Trump plans to build a very loyal cabinet around him should be slide to victory in the Republican primary and then retake the White House in the November 2024 election.

But one of the biggest holes to fill is his No. 2 - after he fell out with former Vice President Mike Pence over the veep's resistance to help Trump overturn his 2020 election loss.

Those being considered include Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance - of Hillbilly Elegy fame - and Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who was Trump's White House press secretary.

Also, failed Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake, who's now running for Senate in the state, and South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, who DailyMail.com reported in September was having a years-long affair with Trump adviser Corey Lewandowski.

Axios also reported that Rep. Byron Donalds, one of the few black Republicans in Congress, 'would love to be VP,' with fellow House member, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, also on the list.

But it's Carlson who's caught Melania's eye.

The former first lady likes the idea of Carlson, who was fired from Fox in late April, because he could be a 'powerful onstage extension of her husband,' Axios reported.

The choice might also encourage her to be more visible on the campaign trail.

She's rarely appeared alongside her husband publicly since he announced his 2024 bid in mid-November 2022.

Some Trump allies pushed back on the idea, pointing out that Trump wouldn't pick a running mate who has the ability to outshine him.
