Don't you think that the laws protecting unions are clearly a violation of the property rights of the business owner?
If not then you don't beielve in property rights.
You did not mention slave labor conditions of the Railroad upon its workers. EDITOR-DON'T LIE! I MOST CERTAINLY HAVE MENTIONED ABUSES SEVERAL TIMES! In 2006 I applied for & was about to take the job of conductor for BNSF. One of the things in writing was that they could own me as a worker & force me, as a conductor, to put in up to 108 hours of work per week. As former mgmt in retail, I knew what a 75 hour week meant, & was willing to go as high as 80-90. The 108 hour a week demand was a BIG CONSIDERATION.
The 2nd demand that was MY walk-away was that no matter where I was at, the moment I was off duty, I was required to be back on the job in EXACTLY 8 hours. Go near home, have 1 -2 hours traffic to get home & come back...too bad.
Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad is owned by - TADA - Berkshire Hathaway, Inc., of Omaha, Nebraska. AKA Warren Buffet (net worth $113 billion). And he owns the Atchison and Topeka Railroad as well. Bill Gates ($118 billion) owns the Canadian Northern (National) Railroad. Other Wall Street investment funds (Blackrock, Vanguard) own, in part, CSX, Union Pacific, Kansas City Southern, and Norfolk Southern.
The more money these jokers have, the less they care about their employees. Amazon's no- bathroom-breaks Bezos. The Waltons of Walmart are collectively worth about $175 billion yet the highest paid employees at the store level is about $10 an hour.
